I enjoy teaching gifted students because they have such vibrant curiosity as they explore the world around them. They think deeply about the subject matter and are not afraid to have unique perspectives.

I love asking questions that seek their perspectives and encourage creative problem-solving. It is fun to provide an outlet for students to share their out-of-class explorations that relate to what we are learning in class.

Kathryn the Literary Scholar has acquired a love for literature studies from the myriad of English courses she has taken in the past. After receiving 5’s on both the AP English Literature and AP English Language exams and A’s in both preparatory courses, she came away with an entirely fresh and inspiring perspective on the depth of literature. From there, she strives to share this appreciation of literature with others.

Kathryn also has a passion for web-related design and development. She has studied Graphic Design for Web and Computer Science at the college level and is actively expanding her skillset through various online courses.

Kathryn studies with her local community college’s high school program and takes online Advanced Placement classes. She has received high marks in all of her courses.

In her free time, she enjoys sketching, dabbling with puppetry, sculpting, participating in competitive Team Policy debate, volunteering with a local therapeutic riding barn, and playing with her dog.
