Students will discover stories from Greek and Roman mythology as they prepare for the National Mythology Exam. Interactive games, quizzes, and live webinars will help students process facts and practice for success on the multiple-choice National Mythology Exam.
Students are not required to take the National Mythology Exam. Many students take the class purely for the joy of learning.
Athena’s Mythology class is offered in the fall to ensure students have enough time to prepare for the exam the following spring. The National Mythology Exam is administered and proctored by parents during the dates set by Excellence Through Classics, usually in February. The Mythology classroom will remain open through the beginning of the spring semester to allow students a chance to review the material before taking the exam.
Athena’s students win the Athena Gold Medal of Excellence with a score of 100%!
“The most prominent undertaking of Excellence Through Classics is the National Mythology Exam [NME]. Since 1989, the exam has been offered to students in elementary, intermediate, and middle school…grades three through nine. The NME is consistently given to over 10,000 students in approximately 400 schools around the United States and in several foreign countries” (Excellence Through Classics).
Excellence Through Classics awards bronze, silver, and gold medals to students who excel on the National Mythology Exam.
