Have you ever watched your parents get anxious about taxes? Unfortunately, it’s very common for people to be afraid of the tax code. According to a study from CNET, 44% of tax filers are “anxious and fearful” about filing taxes. Don’t be part of that statistic!

Through the knowledge that this course provides, you will be able to answer questions like:
    – What is an excise tax?
    – Do I owe any use tax?
    – Am I eligible for the Earned Income Credit?
    – And, of course: Do I need to file a tax return?

In this course, we will cover the fundamentals of the United States tax system. We’ll explore the types of tax and the many factors that go into how federal income tax is calculated.

We will also cover some topics related to taxes on the state level! You will also get the opportunity to present about how your home state (or any state you find interesting) tax code works.

This course will help give you the confidence to file your own taxes in the future!

Disclosure: This course does not count towards becoming a registered tax preparer. Tax preparers are individuals who can prepare taxes on behalf of other people & businesses.
