I’m a university professor who took early retirement to homeschool my daughter. I love encouraging students to wrestle with difficult issues, and I owe this style to my own college experience, where the discussion was valued more than memorizing facts. My field is cognitive psychology, but I’m interested in everything from evolution to sign language. I’m currently writing a book about children’s novels of the 20th century.

Dr. Meg received her BA from Reed College and her Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley. She did her post-doctoral work at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Dr. Meg spent 15 years on the faculty of U.C. Santa Cruz, where she still teaches occasionally. She has taught Introduction to Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, and Research Methods, as well as a variety of more specialized courses.
