Scientific Contributions: Wikipedia Articles about Birds!

Students in the Fall 2024 session of Contributing to Scientific Understanding are sharing their scientific contributions! Here’s what Kai has to say…

As part of my class project for Contributing to Scientific Understanding, I was able to expand two Wikipedia articles, which only contained basic information and insignificant details.

On my first project, I focused on expanding the article for the white-crested tiger heron (Tigrornis leucolopha). My project involved researching into depth and attempting to provide as much information as possible. (Compare this article to the previous version to see how much Kai contributed!)

Similar to my first project, my second project involved the article of the Malayan partridge (Arborophila campbelli). There was no available range map for this bird, and I was therefore tasked with creating a map in addition to expanding the article.
